BID Engineer/Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Bid Engineer / Estimator with a strong engineering background and 3–5 years of experience in the UAE facilities management sector.


The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation and submission of competitive bids for Hard FM and Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contracts across various sectors and project sizes.

Key Accountabilities:


Tender Analysis

Review and analyse tender documents (RFPs, RFQs, BOQs, etc.) to identify scope, deliverables, and technical/commercial requirements.

Determine in-house capabilities versus subcontracting needs based on resource availability and technical criteria.


Manpower & Resource Estimation

Develop manpower loading and deployment plans, especially for output-based contracts.

Calculate estimates based on PPM schedules, reactive call volumes, and cleaning benchmarks.


Create estimation sheets using benchmarks and past project data.

Cost Estimation & Pricing

Prepare detailed cost estimates, margin analysis, and final bid pricing.

Develop pricing models in Excel, ensuring full alignment with client commercial templates and linked cells/formula

Conduct sensitivity analysis and validate assumptions.


Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, HR, and Finance departments to collect and validate technical and commercial inputs.

Coordinate with Procurement for accurate and competitive subcontractor/supplier quotations.


Bid Submission Support

Support the development of technical and commercial proposals.

Assist in preparing bid clarifications, presentation inputs, and documentation throughout the submission process.


Project Portfolio

Must have prior experience working on bids across diverse project types including residential, commercial, government, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

Demonstrate capability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).

  • 3–5 years of experience in estimation and bidding within the UAE FM industry.

  • Strong knowledge of Hard FM and IFM operational practices, KPIs, and SLAs.

  • Familiarity with output-based performance contracts and lifecycle costing.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including use of formulas, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets).

  • Good understanding of cost modelling, profit margins, and commercial risk.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, under pressure and to deadlines

  • Structured and detail oriented.

  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Comfortable with accountability and managing multiple priorities. 

  • Strong network within the UAE FM.
